About GMB

Welcome and thanks for visiting our site!

Global Brigades is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development program. Global Medical Brigades (GMB) is a secular, international, and socially-conscience network of university clubs and volunteer organizations whose mission is to provide medical relief, health education, and improve the quality of life for underserved communities across the globe.

The IUPUI Chapter of Global Medical Brigades was founded in the Spring of 2015. With less than 4 months to plan, we recruited a group of 29 students and 2 health professionals to travel to San Carlos, Panama. There we provided medical and dental care to over 600 community members of Nueva Arenosa in just three days. The goal is to provide a holistic model for sustainable health care, treat patients to the highest ethical standards, and visit community projects that attempt to better the quality of life in these communities. We hold annual brigade trips in the summer, and all club activities are oriented towards the goal of a successful trip.

Thank you again for your interest in the IUPUI GMB, and please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments. We hope to see you on our next brigade!
